Partizan basketball player beat the robot
Although only few could believe it since the robot was almost always the winner in similar situations, Partizan basketball player Letonia’s Davis Bertans has managed to beat the basketball robot 2:1 in a duel “one on one”, at Belgrade Fair on Tuesday.
The competition was held within the Technical Fair with mini basket balls, where a man beat the robot owing to the the throw speed.
After the play, Bertans said it was not easy since this machine scored almost everything, but he was fast and scored 10 times more which lead to winning. It was hard to get used to a smaller ball and basket, but it was easy. The robot had a better score but it was slower than me.
The robot was programmed for the 95% score success and can be speed adjustable. For the game with the Prtizan player, the robot was programmed to the 50% of the maximum speed.
The robotic basketball was introduced in the company ABB in Ljubljana.
